Prelude members will also have the opportunity to work and play with older students in the Junior Philharmonic as they study and develop their skills.
Goals of our Prelude program:
to have fun…first and foremost, we want your little aspiring musician to have the time of their lives in this program!
to provide an opportunity for talented young musicians to play in an orchestra of diverse young people from the region
to foster a positive environment that both challenges and encourages the growth of each player
to promote the enjoyment and appreciation of classical and contemporary music through our commitment to local concerts
to act as ambassadors of goodwill in promoting solid educational ideals
to cooperate with other organizations involved in the arts in an effort to enrich the community
As previously mentioned, students currently attending an Erie City School have an exciting grant available to them.
This grant, provided by Erie Insurance, provides students with up to three years of tuition to the Junior Philharmonic, giving them access to this life-changing music program for years to come. This, coupled with an opportunity to grow as musicians as they move up through our various ensembles, presents the ideal, safe learning environment for your child.
Students eligible for this grant will also be provided a loaner instrument and free access to our Junior Philharmonic summer camp!
As time goes by, each student is also encouraged to obtain outside private lessons to further strengthen their strings or wind education.
Don’t forget: Call 814.455.1375, ext. 124 or email Julia Grandinetti, our Community Programs Manager, at julia@eriephil.org to learn more.
